Inspiring words.

Some pieces come from a completely unconscious place until they bubble to the surface. This one was made during a period when I was sitting with a lot of contradiction. The parts of ourselves we canonize and the parts we hide. I stopped trying to resolve it a long time ago and just let both live on the surface. This is the dark version, its counterpart lives in the light.
Mixed media on canvas with thin poplar wood frame. Please note: the poplar wood frame is more rustic with a hand built finish. Small nails are visible along the sides + slight imperfections are part of the design + character.
