WEEK IN IMAGES | FIELD NOTES.
A Visual Dairy
A couple of weeks, as they were.
I cut my hair and am loving the change. It’s one of those things I had been thinking about for a while and then finally just did it. Seeing it all on the floor of the salon felt a little strange, but also kind of satisfying. It had been a while since I’d cut off that much.
We celebrated my youngest son’s birthday, which kicked off what we now call April birthday palooza. That time of year where we celebrate all three of our boys in the same month, so there’s a lot happening all at once.
I’ve been spending time looking through books on Paris, starting to think about our France trip this summer. I’m still very much here, but part of me is already somewhere else. Just slowly getting a feel for it and noticing what we’re drawn to.
At home, it’s the usual but also not. Same spaces, same pieces, but the light shifts and suddenly something feels different again. There are a couple of pieces of new work hanging in our home, and I like seeing them live with everything else, not just in the studio. With the warmer weather, the pool is coming back into focus too. I caught my shadow reflected in it one day and took a photo without really thinking about it.
I’ve been in the studio, but not in a super structured way. More in and out, thinking, moving things around, not forcing anything too much.
And then there’s that image with the words. It really resonates, and I keep returning to it.
Nothing here is overly planned. Just what’s been around me, what I’ve noticed, what I felt like capturing. That’s it. Happy weekend.

michel
