Grateful for the Shoutout.
Some people live by a plan. I’ve always lived by a deeper pull.
No formal art degree. No neat timeline. No badge that says “you’re qualified now.” Just trust that what I’m drawn to will show me what I need to do and what I’m here to learn next. To be honest, I’m still learning to trust the process and believe that things will unfold exactly as they’re meant to.
When Shoutout Atlanta asked me about my life as a creative, my honest answer was simple: I didn’t really pursue creativity — it has always been a part of who I am. It’s in my blood.
I said yes to this feature because I know I’m not the only one finding my way as I go. I know what it feels like to wonder if your path makes sense, if you’re too late or too unqualified to do what you love.
In the interview, I share more about my non-linear road… the pivots, the lessons, the ways I’ve learned to trust what feels right in each season. The truth is, what I’m doing now might not be what I do forever. As I change and grow, so does my creativity and my work. How freeing is that?
Maybe your own life has had its share of twists and turns too. I think that’s true for so many of us. Who says we can’t reinvent ourselves as many times as we want? I hope my words resonate with anyone who needs a little encouragement and a reminder that you’re allowed to find your own wild, winding way in this world.
I’m grateful to my dear friend, Catherine Horgan, for the nudge to share, and to Shoutout Atlanta for making space for my story. I’m honored to be included in their publication.
You can read the full feature on Shoutout Atlanta here. And as always, thank you for being here!
xx,
Michel
